Any recommendations for skin care products available at Whole Foods in NJ?

I have dry, somewhat sensitive (but clear) skin. I'm caucasian. I would like to try 'organic' skin products. Looking for cleanser, toner, and moisturizer (for the face). Please let me know if you have any recommendations. Please recommend products that you can buy at Whole Foods. Thanks.

I buy all of my skincare products at Whole Foods. I have oily skin, so I can't tell you exactly what kinds to use, but I can recommend my favorite brands. Dr. Hauschka is one of my all-time favorites and it has a wide variety of products. Though it is quite pricey, it makes my skin feel and look great. I also like Collective Well-being; their cleansers and moisturizers are excellent, but I'm not sure if they make toners.

Reply:Check out this book: "Passport to Beauty" by Shalini Vadhera

She compiled beauty secrets from all over the world. One from Poland is that the older generation uses honey as a facial exfoliant and moisturizer and the younger generation uses honey as a lip balm. The book is full of tips like this that people all over the world have been using for generations.
Reply:Whole Foods has excellent customer service...and usually a staff on hand to assist you in each department. They could probably help you the best with knowing which products are good for dry skin.

Just a word of caution - I've been in the skincare business for 10 years. Be careful with "organic" claims. Often times what is called organic would be the same ingredient found in a mall-brand. They are usually costly, and have a very short shelf-life.

I too am a Whole Foods lover - but perhaps am biased as a Mary Kay Sales Director. Don't discount the 'non' organic market - in some cases we are a better bet.

Good luck! And like I said...Whole Foods' staff is great!
