Skin Care????

Lately with the crazy weather change here in CA, my skin looks and feels very dry (which is odd b/c i tend to have oily skin). I've never had this problem before...i was thinking of using proactive to help my skin....is that a good idea? Are there any other skin care product that WORK?

Skin Care????
Hey there,

Your skin is dry maybe due to the weather changes or it could be that you have combination skin, which is oily at the T zones and dry at other areas.

Proactive works really well for problems like acne because it helps to dry out the acnes fast. I dont think you should be using Proactive now since your skin feels dry. Try a good moisturizer that will help to replenish your moisture in your skin. I recommend Nivea moisturizer for day time use. It's light and won't feel too greasy, it has a nice refreshing scent and keeps you hydrated for 24 hours.

Alternately, at night, use a good night cream to help moisturize your skin as well as repairing your skin while you sleep. I suggest Nivea's night cream with Q10plus. It helps to regenerate your skin and keep it moisturized and supple.

If your skin is dry, I suggest for you to change your facial cleanser too. Get a gentle cream cleanser for dry skin instead. I suggest Clinique's Comforting Cream Cleanser to remedy your dry skin. Normal cleansers might tend to dry out your skin further. Clinique's is specially formulated for dry skin. For more tips to looking after dry skin, please read further at http://beauty-tyrant.blogspot.com/2007/0...

Also, drink more water. Hydrate yourself with lots of fluids to keep your skin smooth and supple. At least 8-10 glasses of water each day. Drink your water periodically so the water is well absorbed into your body. Avoid drinking coffee and tea. They make your skin more dehydrated.

Get a moisturizing facial mask to replenish lost moisture on your face. Use it about 2 times in a month. I recommend a good facial mask like Nivea's Pampering Honey Mask. Leaves your face fully moisturized after usage.

I hope these beauty tips have helped you. I know by following these tips, you can achieve that beautiful supple skin again. Good luck in caring for your skin. For more beauty secrets, please go to http://beauty-tyrant.blogspot.com/2007/0...

Please let me know how your progress is
Reply:I actually used proactive, an i found it too harsh. it has been over a year now i have been using Nivea face gel. you must use a wash, toner and moisterizer. Since you normally have oilly skin you should stick to face gels and gel creams. i get my cream from Clinique, i am very happy with it.
Reply:Oil of Olay is fantastic, and they have some with SPF for day use too. Use the thicker cream at night it will really soothe.
Reply:proactive is designed to dry your skin if you have acne ...so it will just make it worse, and maybe cause you to over produce oil.

Buy a gentle face wash, toner and moisturizer with SPF....if their is any alcohol in your face products this will make it worse to because alcohol dries the skin...but for some reason they use it most creams....go figure.

Any recommendations for skin care products available at Whole Foods in NJ?

I have dry, somewhat sensitive (but clear) skin. I'm caucasian. I would like to try 'organic' skin products. Looking for cleanser, toner, and moisturizer (for the face). Please let me know if you have any recommendations. Please recommend products that you can buy at Whole Foods. Thanks.

Any recommendations for skin care products available at Whole Foods in NJ?
I buy all of my skincare products at Whole Foods. I have oily skin, so I can't tell you exactly what kinds to use, but I can recommend my favorite brands. Dr. Hauschka is one of my all-time favorites and it has a wide variety of products. Though it is quite pricey, it makes my skin feel and look great. I also like Collective Well-being; their cleansers and moisturizers are excellent, but I'm not sure if they make toners.
Reply:Kiss my Face

I have the clay mask, and it just fantasic
Reply:Check out this book: "Passport to Beauty" by Shalini Vadhera

She compiled beauty secrets from all over the world. One from Poland is that the older generation uses honey as a facial exfoliant and moisturizer and the younger generation uses honey as a lip balm. The book is full of tips like this that people all over the world have been using for generations.
Reply:Whole Foods has excellent customer service...and usually a staff on hand to assist you in each department. They could probably help you the best with knowing which products are good for dry skin.

Just a word of caution - I've been in the skincare business for 10 years. Be careful with "organic" claims. Often times what is called organic would be the same ingredient found in a mall-brand. They are usually costly, and have a very short shelf-life.

I too am a Whole Foods lover - but perhaps am biased as a Mary Kay Sales Director. Don't discount the 'non' organic market - in some cases we are a better bet.

Good luck! And like I said...Whole Foods' staff is great!

Ladies. What do you think of Mary Kay Skin Care Products?

I went to a Mary Kay party last night, my 2nd one in 4 years. They say the the number one in Skin Care. Do you find it the same as the products in the stores, like Clean and Clear, Neutragena etc. Or is there a difference?

Ladies. What do you think of Mary Kay Skin Care Products?
"the number one in Skin Care"

Actually, the Mary Kay company itself makes no such claim that I can find. That is a common myth that consultants seems to use in their sales pitch. The company's claim is "Today, Mary Kay Inc. is one of the largest cosmetic companies in the world and has acheived a leading-brand status in the United States."

I sell MK because I love the products. There are many myths out there that are used by consultants to help sell products but I feel that if you like the products, you'll buy them, if you don't, you won't and nothing else I say is going to change that.

I just found this in a new "At A Glance" brochure released from the company: "In the United States, Mary Kay is once again the best-selling brand in the combined categories of facial skin care and color cosmetics." Data is based on the most recent industry sales data and actual Mary Kay sales.
Reply:i use them myself and i for one think that they work very well
Reply:i like mary kay only because i was able to try the products and find the right foundation and such. with the others you cant be as sure what color is right for you.
Reply:I sell Mary Kay, only because I really like their skin care. It works great for me. However, test it out because there are some people it does not work for. I will tell you that as amazing as their skin care is, the cosmetics are not as great
Reply:Mary Kay skin care is very good. Their younger line (don't remember the name, but the packaging is white and orage, I think) is excellent and smells amazing, and the timewise lines are really great. Other brands are good as well, but you're not going to find quality like what you get from MK in a drug store. I use proactive myself, which is also amazing!
Reply:I started using MK back in October, and I absolutely love it. My skin is in better shape than it has ever been. I don't use the make up...only the skin care. I have actually gotten compliments on my skin...no lie. That used to never happen. I know I sound like an infomercial....but it really works.
Reply:I'm using a Mary Kay hands treatment only, now, and it's very good.
Reply:There is a HUGE difference!!! I went to a Mary Kay party a few years ago and I loved it so much signed up for it just so I could get the discount but I ended up selling it instead. I'm a director now! E-mail me i you'd like to sign up for the discount. Who knows, you might just become MIss Mary Kay. alexm4all@yahoo.com
Reply:There's a reason why Mary Kay has been so successful for so long and that's because they have excellent products. Get with a consultant and they will let you know what products will benefit you most. I assure you, you won't regret it.
Reply:I think Mary Kay has a great product, however I find it to be way over priced. As for number one in skin care, I think that could be wishful advertising on their part.

Maybelline is number one in the market share.

Avon is second, followed by Loreal and Lancome.

I will place my skin care in the hands of Avon any day, and I have. The best for the money.

I need some advice from women who use Avon Anew skin care products!?

I will be 28 soon and want to start using Avon Anew skin care. I have heard good things about it, but I have a bit of breakouts still and basically have combination skin. There are so many Anew products to choose from. Can anyone recommend which Anew products to use and what they use and love? Thanks!

I need some advice from women who use Avon Anew skin care products!?
I am 22 and I use Avon Anew Retroactive+ 2in1 cleanser/toner... great for oily or acne-prone skin, and made for women in their 20's. All of the moisturizers in the Anew line are too heavy for me, and leave my face shiny, so I use Hydraradiance Day Lotion (Avon Solutions line) and Ageless Results Renewing eye cream. My 27 year old husband uses my Anew wash, as well, and loves it.
Reply:I AM AN AVON REPRESENTATIVE AND MY MOTHER HAS ALWAYS USED ANEW PRODUCTS. SINCE YOU ARE TURNING 28 SOON. TRY USING ANEW FORCE EXTRA. THIS RETORES FIRMNESS ELASTICITY. IT ALSO IMPROVES SKIN TEXTURE. THERE IS A DAY/NIGHT AND EYE CREAM. IF YOU ORDER IN CAMPAIGN 24 THE DAY AND EYE CREAM IS ON SALE FOR $25 FOR BOTH RATHER THAN BUYING EACH FOR ORIGINAL PRICE. YOU ARE RIGHT THERE ARE MANY DIFFERENT KINDS OF ANEW PRODUCTS. IT DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU WANT TO TARGET. IF YOU WANT A FACE LIFTING CREAM YOU MAY TRY THERMAFIRM. THAT IS A POPULAR ONE THAT MY CUSTOMER ORDERS. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING FOR YOUR EYES; DEEP CREASE CONCENTRATE IS WELL RECOMMENDED. IF YOU WANT A CREAM THAT WILL HELP YOU FROM SKIN DAMAGE FROM THE SUN OR ENVIRONMENT THERE IS ANEW ALTERNATIVE.

How do I market my line of skin care products?

I started a line of Dead Sea skin care products 3 years ago. Despite all my efforts our sales are still low. I have a informative web site, I've posted every where on the net, I have a brochure I've mailed and emailed everywhere, I lost tons of money sending samples out. I've tried to recruit direct sales people as well as commission only business to business reps and I got no where. Is this just a failure business or what? I am working on a very small budget at this point and can't afford a national ad campaign should I just quit or what?

How do I market my line of skin care products?
I've been successfully self-employeed for over 30 years. I realize you've spent a lot of time and money on your skin care products and probably won't like what I'm about to say.(You might want to get a consultation with a mass media marketing person to hear the truth of what I'm about to tell you. )

It is repulsive to think of the word "DEAD" when it comes to putting something on my skin when I want my skin to be alive and vibrant.

You might want to think of some other way to describe and label your products. Such as "Skin Care Products from the Sea".

Often times we get so in love with our products/inventions we don't grasp whether our approach is marketable.

I Would like to know what Brand has the best skin care products for the face?

I would like to know what brand has the best skin care products for the face.

Im 22 years old and would like to start taking care of my face right now, and before I even see a wrinkle on my face.

I love how my face looks right now, even my coworkers, family and friends always tell me to give them my secret to maintain my face free of acne and other impurities, but today I noticed that I have a some visible pores under my eyes that i didn't have before , I would like to find a really good product to help me with this, and also help me prevent wrinkles, and maintain my skin looking young.

I Would like to know what Brand has the best skin care products for the face?
I would choose a few skin care products from Forever Living Products. They have some very good skin care and cosmetics. Take a look at www.beeplus.myflpbiz.com.
Reply:well, try any kind of neutrogena products, that is what my dermatologist says and they really do work well! There is one that keeps your skin wrinkle free and blemish free, so that may apply to you at the moment.....you should start using moisturizer around now....I am a teen and my dermatologist told me not to use moisturizer til I am in my twenties b/c it causes breakouts
Reply:I'm 22 also and I use a the makeup optional kit by Philosophy. It is the best thing ever it has help with my acne and keeps my face glowing. The kit has nothing to do with acne but its the only thing that has worked for me to clear acne and keeps my face very smooth and looking young. My mom has flawless skin and this is the only thing she uses. I bought the kit on their website and it comes with a cleanser, serum, moisturizer, eye cream and micro delivery peel and free products. It cost around 89.95 but worth the price.
