Can I use skin care products made for men on my face?

I am asking because at a recent trip to the drugstore, I noticed that the men's skin care lines are cheaper than the women's, and yet the ingredient lists read about the same. Can you recommend any products?

Can I use skin care products made for men on my face?
Mary Kay cosmetics have products for men. Velocity would be a good start. Most of the products that are listed, men can use. Even the shave gels that we have, men can use.

Skin is skin and just because it looks like a woman magazine doesn't mean it's all for women. :)

Reply:What specific skin care are you referring to?

SHAVING - skintimate

FACIAL - Neutrogena
Reply:Probably. I think they do that because maybe the smell is more masculine or feminine? i don't think it would do any harm to try, anyway.
Reply:skin is skin - it doesn't matter.
Reply:many times you are right-men's products are about the same...you just want to be careful with things like scrubs or acne treatments that contain salicylic acid or benzol peroxide...these products in the mens line tend to have the highest over the counter percentages of these products because men have tougher skin...if you have oily skin than chances are you can handle it, but proceed with caution...but many products like normal skin cleanser and stuff often times are pretty similar
Reply:it doesnt matter skin is skin unless you have sensitive skin like i do then certain things will make you break out.

Why do we use skin care products?

I mean there are thousands of brands out there. I can use normal water to wash my skin anyway. Is there benefits using skin care products?

Why do we use skin care products?
I never ever gave it much thought - until I started to turn 35 and lines appeared - this past year I have learned a tremendous amount about skin care and all the crap some brands use.

(Petroleum or mineral oils)

I really suggest investigating pure and natural products -

every thing is so individual so what I suggest may be wonderful but you may not think so - water is good but you need to get off impurities in the skin - men shave so they remove things - with soap/creams - it's important to moisturize too - we lose so much from the sun, and wind.

Sounds crazy but suddenly father time shows up and you may regret not adding some spf or eye cream -

I am all about a hydrating soap, toner and eye cream

and repeat at night with a night cream.
Reply:Depending on the purpose, they wash away bacteria that simply water cannot. If it has Salicylic Acid, it helps dry up and prevent acne, etc. If you only "washed" your face with water every day, you would not be cleansing your skin. Different products are used to help different types of skin problems.
Reply:Cause we all want to be beautiful...
Reply:we use skin care products to care for our skin( =
Reply:Moisturizing is the most important thing to do and regular soap doesn't do this when cleaning. I have a friend that looks older than he is due to not taking care of his skin. He just didn't know when he was younger.
Reply:Water doesn't clean away odors or dirt from you skin you need soap and water to make you look and feel fresh and clean.
Reply:We use them to maintain our skin hydrated and in the form that its meant to be, healthy, soft, vibrant etc

Read the 'Did You Know" page of this website it gives you a lot of insight of skin needs, function and a skin care program - it is very good.

Reply:yes because the facial cleanser washes away bacteria and tightens the pores fighting away the new bacteria.
Reply:Because we are vain and have EGOS.
Reply:Rosacea is a common skin condition that affects mRosacea is a common skin condition that affects many Americans, but it can also spread to the eyes and cause a constant gritty, burning sensation. I have dry skin and have fought with rosacea all my life. I have been in search a product that works on my skin, I am now 37 and I finally found it. I use the ZENMED Skin Support System - Dry Skin and I saw results in days! I recommend it to anyone who has suffered through various dermatologist prescribed Reasonably priced and very effective acne solution.

What are good skin care products?

Skin Care products that kill acne and blackheads( anything except proactive.) Thanks!

What are good skin care products?
I've been having good results with the Biore line in the shine control line (green bottles). The size has been reduced and I've had fewer breakouts. Of course it helps to actually use the product on a daily basis. My dermatologist told me that my skin was lacking moisture and creating acne as a result, but everything he was giving me prescription wise was burning my face so when he told me to use Cetaphil moisturizing lotion over the counter for a wind burn, a result of using one of the prescriptions, and it worked better than what he gave me. I dumped the dermatologist and started using Cetaphil, Avon Moisture 24, and Biore products. I would recommend Biore or Cetaphil products.

In your opinion, what skin care products are more effective?

All-natural skin care products

Mainstream products (i.e. ones with at least a few synthetic ingredients

Products with scientifically proven active ingredients, whether natural or synthetic

Neither are effective

In your opinion, what skin care products are more effective?
All kitchen products which we are using to prepare food are best, which our forefathers are also using and they have nice skin.e.g Turmeric %26amp; gram flour mix with half lemon juice %26amp; milk . make paste this is best scrub %26amp; also whitening of skin.
Reply:I love using Clean and Clear Dual-Action Moisturizer. It keeps my face soft, but it also has Salycilic Acid which fights zits and blackheads.

My skin has never looked better!!!
Reply:Sounds like a load of BS, but ive been using vasaline on my face since i was young, and my skin is smooth and pimplefree.
Reply:In my years of experience, I have tried many different brands of skincare. I have found a company that absolutely has the best skincare. The company is a direct sales company who have made it their goal to produce the best skincare, which is based on the same skincare sold by dermatologists, and sell them at affordable prices. So they do not compete with cosmetic companies they compete with doctors.

They spend millions each year in research and development. They hire Chemists and PhDs to do their research and development in their Research Institute.

They use high quality ingrediants both synthetic and natural together so that their products are them most effective.

After 3 days of using these products I could see a markable difference in my skin. It was tighter, pours were smaller and the overall appearence was better. My husband even noticed a difference. I will never use anything else!

Also the skincare is based on the age of the skin, not neccessary the chronological age of the person. Depending on how much damage you have done to the skin.

It is available in the US, Canada, %26amp; Puerto Rico. You can order it directly from the consultant and they will deliver it to you or you can order it off their websites.

Reply:You are not going to believe this one, but 100% true. I have bought the best of soaps and creams and cleaners, paid all kinds of money. I have very oily skin and am prone to break outs. I finally got sick of spending money, and just washed my face with Ivory soap, and low and behold my skin improved dramatically. I use just an anti-wrinkle cream under my eyes Walmart brand, and people ask me all the time what is your beauty secret, as I look young for my age, and the answer is don't abuse your body with smoke, alcohol and bad foods, drink lots of water and get plenty of rest and take a one a day vitamin, and your face will look younger and healthier.

Are more expensive skin care products better for over 40 skin?

I often wonder should I spend $50-80 on a high end eye cream or night cream or spend less and get the same results?

Do you really get what you pay for when it comes to facial skin care products?

Are more expensive skin care products better for over 40 skin?
Nope!! What you pay for with more expensive products are the packaging and advertising. I'm a marketing student and we actually discussed this in class and discovered that the contents alone of Chanel no.5 actually costs about $2!! Also if you look at the ingredients of creme de La Mer you'll see that it's almost exactly the same as Nivea cream. A lot of people who buy expensive products are not just looking for performance but also for status and recognition amogst their peers. These big companies know this so they actually deliberately set their prices high so that their products are perceived as exclusive and therefore better when that is not the case at all! You're better off just buying drugstore products that you like and save your money for nice clothes where you can actually see and enjoy the quality!
Reply:i do with all Christian Dior products, i use L'oral and Lancom sometimes, my mom she is 50something uses Estee Lauder and she is happy with it :) but it is not always the price, there are some expensive brands ( very few)but don't make a good effect;
Reply:I think there are many cases where you're simply paying for the label. There are many companies who buy a product just to put their labels on. Give the Mary Kay skin care line a try. Mary Kay has their products made especially for them. The results will speak for themselves and the prices are VERY reasonable. The Mary Kay lines includes all skin care products imaginable, plus full color, body care, and fragrance lines as well. I'd be happy to send you free samples of any of our products!

Some good skin care products??

Okay so I have tried Proactiv, Benzaclin, and many many many other products. Nothing really seems to work! I have combination dry/oily skin...and I am so tired of battling acne and constant skin care regimens. I am just so ready for clear skin. I've been to a dermatologist and everything. Can any of you recommend any really good products or maybe something herbal?

Some good skin care products??
eat almonds and tuna, it helps the natural healthy oils in the skin. Also take vitamin e and drink lots of water. Water is so important to the skin. Most of the time it's not what we put ontop of the skin but what we put into our bodies. And if you smoke, forget it, your skin is suffering.
Reply:well for me benzaclin was the best. i dont know maybe u should go to a dermatologist Report It

Reply:Hi, I do not know what age you are. So you can go and check by yourself if this skin care product for your age - but I know that it is amazing!!

go to www.dreamlife.isagenix.com and click there on skin care. Then check - very possible you'll find some for you age.
Reply:There's this Japanese facewash called SK II...I've heard a lot about it. I've done some research and it's mad expensive. But its supposed to be really good.
Reply:stay away from shellfish, which is high in iodide and bad for your skin. i have very similar skin and nothing really seems to work for me either. benzoyl peroxide is too drying and everything else just doesn't work or is too harsh on my sensitive skin. the best advice i can give is too use a gentle moisturizing cleanser. i like dove, neutrogena extra gentle facial cleanser, and burt's bees orange cleanser. if you're a girl, try the pill. it helped clear up my skin. but it can become pricey if you don't have health insurance.

my mother introduced me to Vaseline intensive care lotion. at the time i had a cold sore and it healed in record time. other than that it moisturizes and cares for your skin on a continual basis. more important it's economical.
