I have been using Proactive for a while now and I have yet to see any results. I know for a lot of people, your skin gets worse before it gets better. But I've been using it long enough to where it should be getting better by now. Am I using it wrong? I wear makeup and the Proactive doesn't get all of the makeup off, so before I use the product, I wash my face with antibacterial soap. Am I washing my face too much? I do this little routine when I get up in the morning and right before I go to bed at night. What can I do to clear my skin up? I don't exactly have acne, but I get red splotches all over around my chin and on my cheeks, kind of close to my mouth area. And suggestions on how to get rid of this?
Proactive Skin Care Products help?
If you don't have acne this will definitely not work for you.
Even if you do have acne, this may not work for you. I've heard from friends that it worked for them, but it didn't for me.
My best advice is to see a dermatologist. He/she would be able to tell you what the red splotches are and how best to treat them.
Reply:medicated cream
Reply:Try to clean it w/ alcohol before you go to bed and a mild soap in the mornings
Reply:I have found that Nivea face wash and toner work really well together. I think the Pro-Activ may be too harsh for your skin -- it really dries out your skin.
Good luck!
Reply:try to call proactiv i used it too and i saw results 3 weeks after i started using it. if you call them maybe the can recomend there makeup thingy...
Reply:lemon juice dries it out.
If you have bad acne see a dermatologist and they procribe a medicine I cant remember the name right now but it makes you never have another pimple but it can cause depression, its a serious medication.
Reply:i used it too and the 'clearing effects' that it did cause were not worth the $40 i was paying. you're better off using a drug store product (a good one i found was Ambi by johnson and johnson, they made a great facial scrub)
Reply:Proactive didn't work me either. I used it for over 6 months with no success. All it did for me was dry my face out.
Everyone I know hasn't had success with it. I have read on here that people have had it work for them. I guess it just depends on your skin type or the kind of acne you are getting.
You should visit your dermatologist and see what they can do for your skin. I'm sure they will be able to help you.
Good Luck!!
